COMMUNICATION & ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
Strategic Communication Across Constituencies
My role requires communicating complex work clearly to very different audiences. I prepare presentations and updates for ETX’s Advisory Board and program managers at NASA, NSF, and the U.S. Department of Education; manage communications with Infiniscope’s network of 4,000+ K–12 educators; and communicate regularly with ETX staff and stakeholders across ASU. In each setting, I tailor the message while keeping priorities, progress, decisions, and next steps clear.
Building Alignment Across Organizations
CourseWorks required alignment across institutions with different cultures, priorities, and responsibilities. I led efforts with ASU and Carnegie Mellon to negotiate the MOU, establish governance and decision-making structures, define responsibilities, and develop a shared financial model. I now coordinate partners across course development, technology, marketing, research, and distribution, creating common structures that allow independent organizations to advance shared goals.
Turning Evidence into Decisions
I regularly translate evidence into information leaders can use. I have presented ETX’s progress, results, priorities, and future direction to ASU’s President, Provost, Deans, and Directors, using financial, operational, and program data to inform decisions. I have also presented at national conferences on the effectiveness of educational products we design and distribute at scale, communicating what the evidence shows and how it should inform future development.
Facilitating Planning & Collaborative Decisions
At Marianapolis, I convened residential faculty to understand concerns about workload and expectations as we prepared for significant boarding growth. Rather than prescribe a solution, I created space for faculty to help redesign the program around shared needs and priorities. That process informed our work with Facilities and the Board to expand faculty housing and involve more educators in residential life, creating a stronger and more sustainable program.
